Reimagined Academic Settings For A Vibrant Campus
While serving as project architect at the former firm BSA, underutilized spaces across three aging campus buildings were reimagined, creating modern academic environments that better support evolving programs and student life. The project converted an automotive shop into a dedicated Animal Care and Management Program building, renovated the EMT academic area into an Early College Program space, and reimagined the campus food court to improve flow and engagement. The design focused on modernizing existing structures while maximizing usability and safety, balancing functional updates with a refreshed aesthetic throughout. Regular bi-monthly meetings with the client ensured the design aligned with the college’s vision.
dl-Design Studio enhanced the food commons with seating stairs that create informal gathering areas, while a curving wall and soffit at the snack shop draw attention and enhance wayfinding. These details, combined with thoughtful updates to classrooms and program areas, provide safer, more modern educational environments for students and faculty. The renovated buildings strengthen the campus’s identity and support its mission to deliver high-quality, engaging academic experiences.
