Two-Story Renovation and Addition for Family Living

Transforming a cherished family home, the Rudran Residence now features a brighter, more functional layout with an enlarged kitchen, reconfigured second-floor bedrooms, a tailored primary suite, and a new basement level. A protected stream buffer required careful reworking to preserve nearly all the spaces the family wanted.

dl-Design Studio collaborated closely with the family through design charrettes, balancing functional, cultural, and social needs—especially in the kitchen, designed for large gatherings. Structural solutions, including a custom retaining wall, addressed challenging site conditions while maintaining flow and harmony. The resulting addition blends seamlessly with the original home, modernizing layouts and finishes while enhancing light, circulation, and everyday life.
